VON-RIFFIC!

The Houston Rockets did what everybody thought they wouldn't do and that's beat the world champions in there home court where they have only lost once this year (Make it Twice!). The Rockets played a well as group helping out on defense and moving the ball to the open man for an easy baskets. But before i go into the man of the hour in my mind let me give a well deserve standing O! to Chuck Hayes who played hell of tight D! all night on Kevin Garnett, so thanks Chuck cause of you we able to control him inside from going off like he was in the first quarter against Scola. But the true player of the game in my book goes to Von Wafer. Not only did Von have nice shooting night going 4-6 from behind the arc but Von hit a go ahead basket that gave the Rockets a 2 point lead after being down one with under a minute to play. Also nice games from the big man Mr. Yao Ming who played like a monster tonight scoring 26 points off 10-13 shooting. Ron Artest was Ron Artest playing defense like only Ron knows how to and making plays when the Rockets needed them. Its to bad that the refs still wont call games like they should be called in the NBA instead going after players like Ron for his reputation and Yao for his size! Anyways its a great win for the Rockets last night for there measuring stick to see how they need to play and to see how far they are from getting there. The final score from Boston was our Houston Rockets 89 and the Boston Celtics 85. The Rockets will be on the road for one more game Friday night when they play the worst team in the NBA the Oklahoma City Thunder hopefully they will not play to the level of the team they are going up against.

Another Loss!

The Houston Rockets faced the Philadelphia 76ers tonight in Philly in another back to back game for the Rockets. The Rockets came out with some energy from Tracy who scored the Rockets First 8 points with drives to the basket. The Rockets where challenged early on with the 76ers constantly taking the ball to the basket and making the Rockets play D! in witch tonight they did not do! The 76ers kept the game close for the most part in the first half with great play from Andre Iguodala who kept the Rockets on there toes all night while he knocked down open jumpers and drove the ball to the basket and got fouls calls all night long. At the end of the hale the score was 55-53 in favor of the Rockets. In the third quarter the Rockets looked like a old washed up team as they could not get back on defense and made terrible passes that either was thrown away or stolen for easy baskets. The Rockets where out Scored 26-16 in the third quarter and the 76ers never looked back as the Rockets could not get closer than 4 points losing the game tonight 104-96. The Rockets coach to me dose not know what to do at times cause you have players looking confused out there or playing lazy and he dose not take those guys out but dose take out the guys who are playing well like Von Wafer you played in my eyes very well but hardly played in the second half Von was 6-7 for 14 points in 26 minutes of action tonight While or other 2 stars played once again like they are just plain old ball players instead of stars. Tracy was 5-15 for 14 points and dishing out 9 assist and for our big man in the middle Yao Ming he finished the night with 14 points as well on 4-9 shooting. If yo ask me if your superstar center only takes 9 shots you are bound to lose alot of games like that! This is starting to be a every night thing for the Rockets i don't even think that they care if they lose a game anymore i mean seriously i mean so some emotion out there get a a tech once in awhile show the crowd that you care and that you are trying at least on 85 percent! There are only 2 guys on the Rockets that seem to give it there all every night and that is Von Wafer and Luis Scola! Scola was tonight leading scorer with 18 points. The Rockets have some serious soul searching to do on the flight to Boston where they play there 2nd game in a row and maybe another loss. The Rockets record with tonights loss in Philly is 21-15 3 games behind the Spurs and 8 games back to the west leading L.A Lakers and only a half a game ahead of the Jazz from being on the outside looking in from the playoff picture! So Houston if you dont want to have this season as a total disaster you better play some NBA basketball cause come to June you may be waiting for a ping pong ball!!!

Rockets Visit Hawks

The Rockets on the second game of a back to back and without Artest and Mcgrady seemed to play alot better as a team. The Rockets started the game tail to tail with the Hawks trading baskets for the 1st and a half quarters. Carl Landry came up with some big put backs and got to the line for 8 free throws that he made! Another key player in this game was once again Von Wafer who got the start for the injured T-Mac. Von had nice baskets from the inside and out taking it strong on the Atlanta D! Yao had a nice game as well chipping in with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Yao did not score but one basket in the second half being shut out with double teams and like always bad calls! i mean the was just hammered and knocked down to the floor an nothing no call. In the fourth quarter the Rockets managed to tie the game after being down 6 with tough D and with the help of Von and Rafer After a steal by Rafer with about 45 second left in the game Von took the Alston pass and scored with a strong drive to the basket! (A Foul Should Have Been Called!) witch tied the game at 100. In the next go for the Hawks Rafer managed to steal the ball away from Joe Johnson but could not score of the steal. With about 7 seconds left the Rockets collapsed on defence and left Mike Bibby open for a 3 that went i and left about 1.5 seconds on the clock. On the Rockets final try the Rockets inbound the ball to Aaron Brooks who had a nice look at a 3 put rolled out the rim. The Rockets now after losing the second game in a back to back are now 21-14 and now 2 games behind the leading Hornets. Rockets top scorers for tonight's game was Carl Landry with 18 points. Von added 17 points and Luis Scola had 16 points and 11 rebounds. The Rockets will face off with the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday in Philly.

Self Distruck!!!

This team is now HORRIBLE! No since of direction in the way they are going one week they look good and the other week they look like a very big MESS! And tonight's showing in Toronto was a display on how bad this team really is. The Rockets had no one show up tonight except Von Wafer who only played in Garbage time for 12 minutes and managed to hit 7-9 shots for 18 points. 18 points in 12 minutes are you serious Rick? I mean your big 3 where a combined 11-32 for 30 points are you really serious Artest was 4-11 for 12 points Yao was 5-12 for 14 points and She-Mac was 2-9 for a whopping 4 points! Man is this what we have to look forward to for the rest of the season? Until Tracy decides he can clean up his issues and look like he gives a damn or trade him for Gatorade or a nice roll player in return this team is heading no where! Maybe its deeper than just the players not showing like they care maybe its in issue with the coach and no one has made public cause they are not running his offense and not trying for the man. And by the way the final score tonight from Toronto was 94-73. Until Tomorrow when we get to see another great basketball performance from the Rockets when they face Joe Johnson and the Atlanta Hawks without She-Mac who will sit that game out cause he cant play back to back games cause he gives 110 percent out there the night before and its to much for his little old poor knee.

Houston @ Toronto

The Rockets will go into the game tonight Vs the Raptors knowing that they will be without Shane Battier and maybe Tracy Mcgrady who will not be playing in back to backs. Since the Rockets will play tonight Vs Toronto and tomarrow Vs the Hawks we will have to see what game Tracy decides to play in. In the last few games for the Rockets they have played the Hornets in witch they lost 79-88 that game was played without Artest. The next game was vs Utah witch they won that on in overtime 120-115 that game was played without Mcgrady. The 3rd game of 5 was Vs the Wizards a game witch they had all Mcgrady, Yao, and Artest but yet they lost the game. And the last game of 2008 the Rockets Faced the Bucks in Houston a game that was alittle sloppy. The Rockets lost a 15 point lead in the secound period to barley win the contest 85-81. The Rockets where lead by Yao Ming who scored 22 points and grabbed 10 boards. Tonights game vs the Raptors will be a tough one in my mind due to the Raptors size. The Rockets willl have to try to match up aganist Jermaine o'Neal,Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani with Chuck Hayes and Luis Scola and Carl Landry who both are 6'9 and Hayes who is listed at 6'6. Artest will once again have to guard a player who is bigger than he is in Andrea Bargnani it will be a tough match up but i think Artest should be able to stop him from going off for 15 or so points. Final stats of the game Rockets 97 And Raptors 82. Leading scorer will be Aaron Brooks who will have 26 points and 7 assist.
